| MN Bridge Collapse Kills at Least 6
MINNEAPOLIS, M.N. – Authorities say at least six people are dead after a bridge collapsed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Freeway Bridge broke during Wednesday evening rush hour. The collapse sent vehicles, concrete and twisted metal crashing into the Mississippi River. There are dozens of vehicles in the rubble, some stacked atop each other. Foreclosures: Hardest hit ZIP codes
For sheer volume, housing foreclosures across the nation appear to be moving from the Rust Belt to the Sun Belt. A study for CNNMoney.com by RealtyTrac, an online marketer of foreclosure properties, showed that 139 of California's ZIP codes fell within the top 500 for total foreclosure filings in the United States. The next highest count for any state is less than half that at 72 and is in another sun-belt state - Florida. .
Changing Westport: A 21-Year-Old’s Perspective
Tom Haberstroh is a 21-year-old college student from Westport who recently mused about his changing hometown in his blog, Tom's Bombs of Thought. Fire Damages House Under Renovation
Fire caused major damage late Tuesday night to a Rochester home under renovation. The fire broke out shortly after 11 p.m. on Campbell Street. Firefighters say the fire started in the back of the two-story home. It spread to the second floor and to the outside of the home next door. No one was living at the home at the time of the fire. Garage sale to pay medical bills raises more than $3,000
Mike Gunderson and his mom, Renay Siegwarth, have been overwhelmed by the community's response to their benefit garage sale.Gunderson, 19, of Millersubrg has been trying to pay medical bills associated with two emergency brain surgeries to repair a failed shunt last March. He has hydrocephalus caused by a tumor. The garage sale to help raise money to pay for the expenses was held Friday and Saturday at their Millersburg home. .
